In a heartbreaking event in the Hidil Colony of the Nawabad police station area in Jhansi district, a man reportedly took his own life by setting himself ablaze due to family disputes. This information was confirmed by local authorities on Monday.
According to the police, the fire department responded promptly and managed to extinguish the flames engulfing the house. The deceased has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Laxmikant Gautam, the Circle Officer of the urban area, reported that Chandan Kori, aged 35, committed suicide by igniting a fire in his home around 9 PM on Sunday night, following a family conflict. He was employed as a Class IV worker in the irrigation department.
The police noted that due to ongoing domestic issues, Kori's wife was living separately, and he was residing with his mother, Urmila Devi. Prior to his tragic act, he had an argument with his mother, which led to her leaving the house. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police.
